Entries are now open for the North Island Intermediate & Middle School Road Cycling Champs 2020. Riders can enter the Team Time Trial and/or the Individual Road Race.
WHEN: Friday 21 August 2020
WHERE: Taupo Motor Racing Circuit, Corner of Centennial Drive and Broadlands Rd, Access on ‘Off Highway Road’.
RACE DISTANCES: 13.2km (Year 7) & 16.5km (Year 8)
TEAM TIME TRIAL DETAILS:
Time: Managers meeting at 9.30am followed by race start at 10.00am
Order of Events: Year 7 girls, Year 7 boys, Year 8 girls, Year 8 boys
Team Numbers: 4 riders + a reserve
Entry Fee: $80 per team + a small charge (TBC) for hire of gear storage garage. DO NOT PAY NOW - a final invoice will be emailed to all riders once final team numbers and entries are completed.
Mixed Teams: If we do not have enough riders of one age group to make up a team, we can pool riders (i.e. 1 Year 8 and 3 Year 7) and enter them into the Year 8 grade. We can also mix boys and girls into one team and enter them in the appropriate boy’s grade. Students may not race in more than one team.
ROAD RACE DETAILS:
Time: Managers meeting at 12.20pm, followed by race start at 12.45pm.
Order of Events: Year 7 girls, Year 7 boys, Year 8 girls, Year 8 boys.
Entry Fee: $40 per rider. DO NOT PAY NOW - a final invoice will be emailed to all riders once entries are completed.
Finish: First five riders must present themselves immediately after the Road Race for gear checks.
- Approved hard shell helmets must be worn.
- All bikes must be road worthy, unsafe bikes will not be allowed to start.
- Gearing: 6.61 meter roll out (no exceptions).
- Transponders will be issued at registration and must be worn at both events, attached as directed.
If you wish to make a protest the procedure is first verbally to the Race Manager, then in writing within 15 minutes of the event in question finishing. The right to protest belongs to the team manager.
Cambridge Middle School will not be sending a staff member to this event. Please note that all parents attending will be responsible for the supervision of their own children. In the event that a parent is not able to attend, the allocated team manager will be responsible for the supervision of these students.
