School Swimming Sports
In 2023, our annual School Swimming Sports will take place in Term 1. Due to the limited numbers that local venues can cater for, Cambridge Middle School's Swimming Sports is an opportunity for our competitive swimmers only.
2023 Information for competing swimmers:
WHEN: Monday 20 February 2023
WHERE: Cambridge High School Pool (entrance and parking is off Taylor Street)
TIMES: Events will commence at approx. 10.00am and finish 11.30am to midday. If you'd like to come and watch, it would be best to arrive by 9.45am
GEAR: Togs, towel, swimming cap, goggles, CMS PE uniform, lunch, snacks, water bottle, CMS hat/cap, any medication needed and comfortable footwear for the walk. Students may arrive at school in their PE gear and leave school at the end of the day in their PE gear. The PE tops need to be the Cambridge Middle School PE tees and shorts need to be all black.
QUALIFYING CRITERIA: CMS Swimming Sports is only for our competitive swimmers who wish to qualify for WIMS (inter-schools) Swimming (Monday 13 March in Morrinsville).
There is no limit to the number of events a swimmer can sign up for, for our CMS Swimming Sports. However, for WIMS Swimming we're limited to the following entries:
100m freestyle (1 boy and 1 girl, irrespective of year level)
50m fly (1 boy and 1 girl per year level)
50m freestyle, backstroke & breaststroke (3 boys and 3 girls per year level)
6 x 50m championship relay (girls)
6 x 50m championship relay (boys)
6 x 50m non-championship relay (mixed)
EVENTS: 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m fly, 6 x 50m relay (to be decided on the day)
Results will be collated in the few days after the event and students who have qualified for WIMS Swimming will be notified ASAP. Please use the button below to view 2023 results.
